Hi.. Thanks for posting your ideas :) Yeah, Python is indeed a natively data-oriented language that is suitable for data science-related activities. I think Lua needs to be extendted with some native types, inbuilt data structures, and features to compete with Python from that aspect, but then, it won't be "the easiest" and "the minimalist" language for beginners. In the article, I also tried to show that the current stage of Lua has potential to enter to places where Python leads, but with the current minimal design. Perhaps, if they extend Lua with Python-like features, it will be yet another Python-like language (like Ruby) -- not the niche language that we want
