These days almost everyone stays at home and we as developers, are working from home since coronavirus put humans into a movie hall which shows horors all the time. Whereas, as a side effect we all have more free time in our lives because we are able to save daily travelling time(in my case it was 4 hours). I used that extra time to experiment some new stuff like,

  • Studying more about software architecture
  • Adding new features to Neutralinojs
  • Cooking

Wait! Cooking! Yeah, I tried some non-technical stuff too. Indeed I would like to share my recipe of making pizza at home without an oven. This recipe doesn’t show up some magical items which cannot be found specially these days, it’s all about things we can purchase even from small boutique at your village.

Things you need

For the dough

  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Butter or Margarine
  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Yeast
  • Oil

For topping

  • Tomato Sauce
  • Chopped — Tomatoes, Green chilies, onion
  • Sausages
  • Grated Cheese
  • Pepper

Equipment

  • Large aluminium tray
  • A ring made from aluminium (I used one with h=~2cm and r=~6cm)
  • Saucepan
  • Rotti plate

STEP 1 — Making the dough

This is about making a general dough and there are many videos at Youtube also.

STEP 2 — Making the roti part

Once the dough is ready take a desired size of portion into a cutting board(I used a one made from bamboo). Spray some flour onto the board and flatten it by your hand to build the roti shape nicely.

STEP 3 — Topping

Take the large aluminium tray and paste some vegetable oil on to it. Place your nicely made roti from STEP 2 carefully. Thereafter, paste tomato sauce on to the roti and place topping items as you wish

STEP 4 — The magic

Here we are not going to use an oven but we will simulate the environment of the oven. Place the roti plate on to the gas cooker and place aluminium ring at center of roti plate. Thereafter, take the aluminium tray with the pizza from STEP 3 and carefully balance it on the ring. Eventually, cover your hand made oven core with the saucepan.

Keep around 15–20 mins with a light heat until your pizza is ready! (Check 1–2 time(s) to make sure it’s not overcooked)

STEP 5 — Enjoy

Enjoy your pizza

Happy coding! 🍕
